Service Manager
Hi there, my name is Sydney Bushnell and I am the Service Manager at Busy Bees at Bellmere.
I have been in the Early Childhood industry for just over 10 years, starting my journey with work experience which lead me to where I am now. As the middle child, and the only girl, my passion for teaching started very young where I could always be found trying to teach my brothers the “right” way to do things.
Growing up, I knew I always wanted to work with young people, initially thinking my journey would take me in to primary teaching. It was while completing my Certificate III in Early Childhood and Care during my senior years at school, I found myself really enjoying working with younger children. Watching each child’s face light up with joy and excitement when they achieve the goal that they have been working towards, and understanding the learning behind what they are doing, is something that makes me passionate about my career choice.
Beginning this next part of my journey as a Service Manager, I feel that I am able to provide guidance to each child to extend their knowledge and understanding while also providing a safe and secure environment. I feel that I can scaffold the learning of both Educators and children within the service while meeting the needs of each individual family.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Kayla Gilmore and I am the Assistant Service Manager at Busy Bees at Bellmere.
I currently hold my Diploma of Early Education and Care and have been working in the industry since 2006, beginning as an Educator before progressing to a Lead Educator role. I began assisting management teams within my services which then lead to me taking on administrative duties. Moving to Busy Bees at Bellmere at the end of 2020, I first started in the Discovers room before commencing my management role.
While I was raised on a rural property in North West Queensland, I loved being able to care for and assist the younger children on neighbouring properties or in my family. As I got older, I realised that this was something I wanted to do as a career. Being able to not only encourage and support the children in my care but to also build strong bonds with the families, has always been very important to me. This then allows all involved to provide a high quality of care to each child through the sharing of information.
With family and friends being of incredible value to myself, I can appreciate how important it is to develop relationships with those within my Service. I look forward to welcoming you to our Busy Bees family at Bellmere.
My boys are always happy and content to stay here unlike other day cares in the local area. If I could give 10 stars I would. The place is clean, fresh and modern. I feel positive energy when I walk through the doors. Thank you so much for genuinely caring for my boys.
I'm always made aware immediately of any concerns and the educators are always so happy to help out with any questions or requests. Thank you for making us feel like part of a family.
Any issues that arise are swiftly dealt with in a professional manner. I love the continuity of staffing as the children move up rooms so it helps with the change. I cannot recommend enough.
The Managers are so kind, caring and very aware of all the children’s needs. It's a beautiful service and we're very happy to be part of their Hive.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
